Nashville Rocks in The South

On Friday night at the Hair of the Dog in Nashville, TN a wintry work week ended when eight local acts stormed the stage. Things were hot at the Emergenza International Music Festival''s second set of elimination rounds when the Roman Empire set the tone for the night. Melodic rock with a touch of "gruff" soaked the fresh ears of this evening''s events. Roswell, an all around tight band from Nashville, was up next exhibiting excellent harmonies and very positive energy. Lowercase Collective changed the atmosphere with jazzy bridges and thick bass licks. Robin Thrush Jr. rocked the old-time blues with the rusty voice of a sixteen year old. Eladrea debuted in Nashville, taking music to the next level with instrumental funk rock tunes. Graham then followed with psychedelic rock and excellent harmonizing. Poles Apart bounded into their set with aggressive vocals and exuberance. Ethereal tones wailed from the heart of the front man for Soul Skin as special guest saxophone performer "Hudge" slipped onstage with drifting harmonies. Friday evening''s sets came to a close and all were beatific. Continuing on with the musical rampage Nashville bands sound checked all day for Saturday''s Emergenza Festival. SUPREX suppressed nothing as they dished out the struts and caressed their transitions into a new ode. Eloquist stepped up to plate and whisked the audience away with their solid vocals. The Redding Brothers held down the beat of the evening with their own rendition of rock. Manna was the kind of music that packs arenas with a guitar that falls in and around an organ''s echo. Fallback To Farewell''s high energy had the audience buzzing. Kirsten Davies took the stage and blew the concertgoers away with her hands on performance and in your face vocals. A Band Named June closed out Emergenza''s final weekend of elimination rounds in Nashville with a punk version of Johnny Cash''s Folesome Prison Blues. Stay tuned for updates about Emergenza''s next set of shows in Nashville at the Exit-In.
