In D Town again!

This was an exciting weekend here in Detroit for Emergenza. With great bands coming from all over the state, there wasn’t a dull night to be had at Alvin’s. Thursday 12 This was a night to remember with such great bands like Mad Hot Dance Hall, Prove to Be Fatal, Which Way is Home, Deron Feivel, Tone Arm, and the Banana Convention, bringing down the house here in Detroit. There was an Uproar when Which Way is Home took the stage. They gave a riveting performance on that stage and took home the 1st place position. I can’t go on with out mentioning The Banana Convention and how much fun I had with them closing the night. They have an incredibly talented group, and their banana and gorilla mascots make the show much more fun for everyone. Friday 13 The good bands keep on coming with Fridays line up featuring Words as Stones, The Second Guess, Quixotic, Marilyn’s Bathdance, and Matry Domus. Words As Stones Gave a very soul full show with a featured female vocalist joining them for a song or two. Quixotic brought with them to the stage a musical experience, featuring a flute, sax and great percussionist. But this show belongs to The Second Guess. They had an awesome crowd and great presence on stage, which helped bring in their win. Saturday 14 This was a packed night at Alvin’s. With bands like Shattered Innosence, The Other Way Around, The Basement Stairs, Magennta 6, Jig, Tri-Nebulous, Ashamed, and Short Tuesday, they all did a great job in bring out the fans. The Basement Stairs had cheerleaders and all to come out to support the band. They brought home the number one spot of the night as well. Not very far behind The Basement Stairs was the band Jig. Now they truly stole the show, with an awesome rhythm section, and vocals, I can see these guys had they stuff together! I really can’t wait to see how these guys do in the 2nd round. Sunday 15 Once again another great line up at Alvin’s to close out the weekend with Fear the Haunted, Sporadic, A Show of Hands, So Much For Simple, and Midtown Underground. The Midtown underground won the night hands down, or up which other was you look at it. But Sporadic wasn’t giving up a fight and took the 2nd place. They gave a new meaning to the word Power Trio. This was a good weekend here in Detroit. It was great to see all the bands having a great time on the Alvin’s stage, and giving it they’re all. I can’t wait to see how all of the bands moving on the second round will do. So for here I will say, good luck to all of you , and thank you.
