D-Town Back at it again
From snowstorms to Busses full of people this weekend is one to remember.
Thursday
All of these bands did one hell of a job this Thursday; Forty Lashes, Intrusion, Negative Sleep, Emergency Care, Until This Ends, Royal- T w/ Lost Avenue, and Search Party, this was a great start to our 2nd weekend here in Detroit. Emergency Care took the night with their great sense of melody and a passionate solid set. Royal-T w/ Lost Avenue brought the Detroit Funk to Alvin''s, and a lot of stickers too. Hats off to all the bands that played.
Friday
It was a cold snowy night and yet the busses still made it out to the show. A fine line up featuring Deja Norm''al, Citizen Smile, Sincerely You, Swindle Hub, Cojum Dip, TBFS, and Almost Famous, Friday proved to be the a great night for Emergenza. When the guys dressed in masked wrestlers uniforms known as Cojum Dip took the stage, they stole the show with a jam packed set featuring percussion, an accordion, and sitar which your “average Joe” wouldn''t think would fit with a Metal Band but Cojum Dip Showed everyone how its done. One couldn''t ask for a better show at Alvin''s
Saturday
Trailing close to Friday, Saturdays bands gave it their all for Emergenza. With Black Kreek, Miles From Vega, Below Larome, Blinking Red, Paranoid Nation, Slay Mafia, and Root Beer Chaser to rap up the night, Saturday was off the hook! Taking the award for best hair, goes to Miles from Vega along with the top place winners of the night. These guys gave it their all, from stage show to music, they took the cake. Best Ska Band award goes to Root Beer Chaser. With horns lining the stage, awesome lyrics and a rhythm section to die for, this band has got their stuff together.
Sunday
A great closing night for Emergenza with the bands Riding Shotgun, Candle Nine, Shock of the Cold, Morgan, Sunday After, The Redliners, Our False Heros, The Illegitimate Sons of Liberty, giving it their all on Alvin''s stage. Shock of the Cold lead the night with an all out jam session on Alvin''s stage. Not to mention Sunday After giving their best with great vocals and great song writing, they gave a show to remember. These bands gave it there all on this stage. I commend each band with a thank you for your talent.
Weekend two is closed here in Detroit, and there are several bands that are moving on to the 2nd round back here at Alvin''s in March and April. I want to thank each and for leaving the pint of blood on that stage. That''s all that one from the audience could hope for. I cant wait to see what Detroit has in store for me next.
thank you Detroit!!
