Week 1 in Orlando

Thursday Night We kicked off Thursday night with quite an energetic set by Falling Through. Gulf Coast Riot continued with a strong rhythm section and sounds reminiscent of Long Beach. Atlas had a nice tight sound with tons of stage presence and the veterans from Milka gave us some great guitar sounds! Only After Five''s front man Travis had an impressive voice. The last two bands of the night were hard rockers- Kinetic and Fate of the Sparrow. Both have developed a unique style and wrapped up the end of a great first night in Orlando. Friday Night Friday night was the most diverse night of the weekend. The Hardcore band Burn Like Rome started off with an aggressive sound and VERY active stage show. The night got more laid back with the guys from Frogwater Band, who were a solid band. Fallen Nation was our Punk Rock band for the night; their set consisted of short and sweet songs with moving bass lines and fast drums. The hard rockers for the night, Resin8, had strong power chords and a few vocal harmonies to throw at us. Sixtinine Fingers, the only ska band for the weekend, kept the ball rolling with the sounds of their horn section. One Night Stan had funny lyrics and proved to us that “fat guys can rock too!” Greyscale finished up the night with funky riffs and a great female vocalist. Saturday Night Saturday was our rock night, and the alternative rockers Broken Before You opened up our set with some great guitar riffs and strong stage presence. Outer Darkness was a heavy hitting melodic metal band with fast tempo changes. Audiology had a great combination with vocals over solid, straightforward rock. Our first lefty drummer in My Adalyn had great energy, as well as the rest of the post hardcore band. Letterperfect had an incredible 4 vocals and a great show! Spoone is a diverse rap metal band from Orlando. Hard driving metal riffs and impressive speed were just part of Boxplow''s set, and Blue Collar Addict ended the night with vocals reminiscent of the late great Layne Staley. Sunday Night The catchy hooks of In Regards To… woke us up just in time for the Sunday night show. Power Pop Rock Beneath had radio friendly songs and a surprise ending with a cover of “Up In Da Club” by 50 Cent. The Deepest Red brought us back into alternative rock with amazing guitar solos. The 5 piece The Regret had a very energetic synth played and were very tight and together. Iron Cross, classic metal, began our metal stretch, Murderous Embrace stepped it up a notch to speed death metal with 2 vocalists and a lightening quick drummer. The Finale of the night was Detoura, a progressive metal band from Altamonte Springs. They had nice vocal harmonies laid over guitar harmonies and a hard hitting sound.
