Detroit''s opening week

All right!!! Detroit Rock City!!!! Emergenza kicked off here in D-Town with an awe inspiring line up, with bands coming to Alvin''s far as Waterford, Novi , and even Tawas, Michigan. Even the band Bitter Green from Windsor, Ontario was present on this opening weekend for Detroit. Thursday Thursday was an awesome opening night for Detroit. With bands such as Backwards Success, Allomorph, Better Not Breathing, Stimulus, Blend, Deathgrip, Bitter Green, and finishing out the night was Blind Leads Nakid . Each band played an outstanding set from Pop Punk to metal, these guys rocked the house down. Better not Breathing''s stage performance had everybody out of their seats. This was a great start for the Emergenza season. Friday Friday continued to rock, as Detroit usually does, with a lineup featuring Valentine, Silent Description, Dying To Know, Orange Areola, Realm, and Mass Dysfunction. Orange Areola stole the show with a following of fans dressed in bright orange tee shirts. Dying to Know, a band from Toledo, OH, brought out their troops to take the number 2 spot. All these bands made for a great second show in Detroit. Saturday Saturday at Alvin''s was the highlight of the entire weekend for Emergenza. The lineup consisted of Dangerous Willy, Beyond The Grave, Hide From Cleo, Garden Of Souls, B-Dab, Day In Age, Rotten 2 The Core, and She Said Yes. Hide From Cleo brought in literally a busload of people to the show. And a Mars Volta reincarnate as 16 year olds, Day In Age gave an outstanding performance. All in all this was the most astounding show by far for this opening weekend at Alvin''s. Sunday Sunday was a good lineup to close out the weekend here in Detroit. The night''s bands included Daily Values, Collision Six, Joe Savalle, Sincerely Severed, and lastly Cursed Eternity. Third Eye Blind step down. Collision Six step up. This band gave a riveting performance capturing the audience''s attention throughout the venue. Cursed Eterity gave a great ending performance for the weekend, capturing the rest of the audience to take 2nd place and moving on to the next round. As an ending it was far from bitter. More of a bittersweet ending to cap everything off. With the triumph of the Natives of the New Dawn in Germany last year, and the start of a great opening weekend here in Detroit, I see this year to be anything but a disappointment for Emergenza. Good luck Detroit!! See you next week!!!
