Wendy's awakening
Montreal based band, Wendy''s Dreaming (www.wendysdreaming.com) were launching there new EP, Stargazing, on Friday October 14th at the Kola Note in there first performance since the Emergenza Canadian final at the Medley last June. People didn''t mind the rain and gang up to see a solid rock show. Wendy''s are probably the nicest guy around and prouved it once again by inviting fellows Emergenza runner-up, the young and talented Vox Populi and Quebec City winners LaChambre to share stage with them.
Vox Populi broke the ice with their “trendy” and unique blend of rock that got people moving, nodding and clapping. Then LaChambre took the stage and solidly delivered a good dozen of hits! Fred (lead guitar) is definitely the main attraction on stage with his vintage, 70s sound, playing and moves. Reminded me of someone but…who?
One thing is for sure, they know how to write good songs that get stock in your head. Every songs are filled with catchy hooks and it''s working great…I''ve been whistling their choruses for a week and I''m sure I''m not the only one…
So now, everyone was ready...And so was Wendy''s who delivered their best performance yet... Starting up with two crowd pleaser to get confidence and set thing straight, they immediately followed with two killer new track from their new EP. While Disposable friends demonstrate the evolution in the band''s songwriting, superbe short and sweet song, the surprise came from the sensibility of Morning light where Laurent (singer-guitar) gave by far his most honest interpretation of the night. In a glimpse of an eye we all realized that they''ve played for an hour and a half, throwing in Karin''s song, Asleep ,Ghost train and Fear…managing to keeping the great What I''ve become as an encore. Thank you guys…
A must see for any brit-pop fan, keep an eye on their website for up-coming shows!
