Pure rock'f***in'roll!
Let's learn more about Rock Hard Power Spray, 2005 intl winners
Noise, melody and aggression. Their live act is raw attitude, narcissism, energy and pure aggression; in Taubertal, they took the stage and everybody knew that this was what rock and roll is and more… Incredibly tight and amazingly entertaining, the boys “communicated” with the audience like consummate professionals. And conquered the first place! Let's learn more about Rock Hard Power Spray.
- Tell us something about your story as a band
We are all long time friends and have played together in different bands in our hometown.. 2 years ago we joined forces and decided to make the best fuckin rockband and rule the world! Now 2 years later, we are well on our way =)
- how did you decide to take part in the festival?
We entered the contest because we thought we had a good shot in winning the national contest, and because we wanted to add some larger venues to our spring-tour.
- do you still remember your first show in Aarhus?
Yeah, we came a long way without any friends to vote for us, played the openening slot at a half filled venue and were followed by 7 local bands who packed the place. When we managed to advance to the next round, we knew that this was our year, and that only the sky would be the limit.
- ... and the National Final?
We just got an stage and rocked the fuckin place to the ground.. When we got off stage, we knew that we had played our best show ever; creating pure mayhem in the crowd, playing so tight and showing so much attitude.
- .. your memories of the Grand Final in Taubertal
It was just a lovely week in beautiful germany. All the other bands were so nice and so talented, but we still believe that we deserved the grand price in the end! We made so many good friends and had a bunch of fun... I think we made a good impression on everyone in the emergenza village, and we''ll never forget these 4 days in perfect sun and playing at the most beautiful venue in europe.
- how was it like to play on the main stage after being named the winners? ... and playing again at night on the Emergenza Stage?
The concert at the main stage was a blast, but a very caothic blast! After we won, we had like 5 minuts before we went on stage, and i was pure madness getting everything ready! Gear missing, broken guitarstrings, etc. But it was such a cool way to spend a sunday afternoon. I just think we were a little bit to hung over from saturday night =) The show on the Emergenza Stage was ever better. We played our best gig this summer and it was a perfect end of a crazy weekend with 3 concerts in only 28 hours. That show was pure magic!!
- did you expect to win?
Hmm actually - yeah! Not to be arrogant or everything.. There were so many great bands from all over the world, but if you dont believe that you have a good shot at the grand price, you shouldn''t enter a contest in the first place..
- What the Emergenza experience has meant for you?
A lot of good contacts, great live-experiences and a nice publicity-boost in our home country. It has just made everything 25% easier.
- Your music is a timeless rock and roll... what are your influences?
Both classics like The Sex Pistols and Guns ''n Roses, but I thing our biggest influence must be Nirvana; both in our songwriting and in our way of take oyr performances to the limit and boyond.
- I''ve heard about your ''peculiar'' live shows... which is the funniest (and/or strangest) thing ever happened on stage?
Damn, there are lots of them.. Are you ready for a top 3?
1. Live sex show on stage in our hometown (caught on tape and released as an adult movie in 9 countries). That was one insane night of rock''n''roll clichés!
2. During a show in Aarhus, the P/A system got on fire and the whole club lost its power; only because of our loud and aggressive playing.
3. At the national Emergenza finals the crowd got so wild that many was carried away by the security, and when they demanded people to stop stage-diving, our lead singer div
