IDE rock 30,000 venue
Emergenza discovery from Nashville play biggest gig of their career!
Sunday September 25 was a special day for IDE but an especially proud day for the team at Emergenza.
The tweeter center was the venue, IDE was the band.
Discovered in the latter months of 2004, IDE is a Nashville band that signed up for that year''s Emergenza competition. As most of us thought, Nashville, the great country and western capital, must offer us some good ol'' country music……….nothing further from the truth! You see, most of us are European so our mind''s vision of Nashville was different to what we found there. Anyway, I''ll get back to the story. The great talent that spawned from that city was to put it mildly…. rather brilliant. IDE is a fine example of a band that came through and won fans and record company interest from a strong live performance and great tunes alone. These boys came a long way since meeting with Emergenza and the gig at the Boston Tweeter Center is a great opportunity. Brooks and Dunn were the main act (don''t laugh please you rock and rollers) on the stage that night and they were looking from the back stage at what the excitement was about (there''s no getting away from country music after all). They congratulated our rock heroes and they went on to entertain the strong crowd. IDE sold loads of CD''s and got their deserved applause at the Tweeter (not bad from an unknown band for the first time in Boston in front of a shitload of people) and managed to get hundreds upon hundreds of e-mails for their mailing list . Lead Singer Layne Ide said: “it was an amazing experience. I still can''t believe that we played in such venue. The sound technicians were nice, the organizers were nice and even the main act and their musicians were awesome to us! I''m still pinching myself”.
A combination of good performances and catchy tunes landed IDE a Distribution Deal with German/American label TRACK1. IDE also made it last season on the Best of Emergenza USA 2005 compilation CD which was given out as a promo to 15,000 people. New copies will be available on the Emergenza website from the end of October. They currently finished their self-titled album which will be available at the end of October through the TRACK1 website. You can actually download a free IDE song if you have an Emergenza ticket.
Well, as I said earlier on….we are proud of these boys but most importantly we are happy to give such nice young people a deserved push for their career.
