The critic's verdict

... as it all happens!

HINDOSLEM Being the first band on stage and “opening the doors” of the festival is never Easy. HINDOSLEM had this very difficult task and they suffered from it. They were very brave considering the heavy burden. They showed guts, energy and confidence on that stage up there. A bit “raw” musically (can''t really ask for much if you have a trio) they have a bit to go in order to “come out especially in the tempo changes were we got the impression they never “took off”. Nevertheless an honest performance from a power trio. FAST FRIDAY Surely this band are aware of their own technical skills….and it shows. They are aggressive, violent with a tinge of melody. A band that is not after all very original but have a good approach on stage. They left us with a decent set but nothing more. SKAnSKA A fantastic performance that gathered the crowd and made them dance, and screma with joy! Going between ska (obviously), dub reggae and punk. From a technical point of view, the set was not perfectly executed but does anyone care when they''re having fun? SIXTEENTH SOLID SPREAD Lady luck was not on their side. The band played with the rain pouring down and the crowd was not in the mood for getting wet. It was a pity because their performance was nothing short of great. Terrific tunes with a good approach using a “researched” sound with intelligent songwriting. LIK….ID We saw everything in this tight performance: technical skill, a strong sound and visual power. Considering the mud and the weather this group managed to get people involved with their rage and resiliance. The crowd was responding to every beat. A great great show. KILL THE NICE GUY A shaky start that this shy band managed to turn around into an escalating gig. The audience were eventually captured by by the sounds the guitarist was projecting. A solid band overall but it was a pity that there was no real communication from them. PUMMEL Boy what a performance!! Fantastic, tight, electric and on the verge of pure schizophrenia. An unpredictable “feel” by this amazing band. There was only one problem with this: they had the very unfortunate slot before Bad Religion and that doesn't help from the crowd's standpoint. People were all too interested in lining up before the main stage for the “big event”. A real pity…..but at least I was there!! LAZURIGHT A decent gig that seems like a school project without any effort. After all with simple yet fragile songs like these it's easy to forget passion when executing them. It felt like Chinese food. ..you have it and after a bit you're hungry again. BLUSH A pleasant start of the day. With their simple approach and wonderful songs mixed with a tight set, they manged to get the crowd interested. Beatutiful tunes with great melodies. A real treat. INDRA A Spotless performance. Brilliant moods and the most interesting electronic experimentations. Amazing singing. The band managed to hypnotise the few souls up this early watching bands and what a surprise it was for them. Something totally different from everything we heard so far. Interesting, original. ROCK HARD POWER SPRAY A real rock and roll show with everything you'd expect from it: raw power mixed with attitude and dirty guitar sounds. Cigarettes hanging from their mouths, spitting all over the stage, this is what rock and roll is and more…..well played but at times too predictible. BAND CALLED PHARISEE Here's a show that comes from the heart. A beautiful atmosphere, a soulful executioin that managed to melt the crowd. This band had people in the palm of their hands. The Chicago boys managed to show off great skill throughout the gig….good songs and a great approach. Simply wonderful. STONEFIELD A good performance by a band that know their stuff. They are entertaining and energetic. This charismatic “lady singer” has got real power and that alone is worth seeing this group.<
