Huge support slots!
Emergenza bands support stars in 20000 capacity top Boston venue
The Tweeter Center in Boston is not like most big capacity venues. Venues that are sponsored and supported by huge brands ready to plough money on rock and roll or sporting events. No, this is a true miracle of a venue. It''s huge and people go there for the bands, not the brands. Around the world there has been a trend in recent years for venues and stadiums to accept money from huge corporations and have their brand “attached” in order to market their corporation names to a mainstream audience. To cite an example, in London we have the The Brixton Carling Academy, which to all Londoners is simply the Brixton Academy. It''s always been and always will be. You can throw all the money in the world at any venue so you can gain “coolness” for your beer or whatever products you advertise but bottom line is that venues are just cool places where people go and see great concerts. Where people go to get some of the best memories of their lives. And so to our main discussion: The Tweeter Center. Call it what you want but in Boston there is no finer concert venue, no finer amphitheater than this one and thanks to Emergenza, bands that have been impressing our A&R department, are playing there, supporting some of the best acts in the world. We are not joking ladies and gents. We are sending bands from Chicago, Nashville, Philly and Detroit to support huge acts throughout August and September. This is not just a 20,000 capacity venue. This is an Open Air Amphitheater with an atmosphere cooler than most open-air gigs I''ve been to.
It''s lush and green, it''s gorgeous and warm, It''s exceptional and magical.
The sound and light system in this amphitheater is mind-blowing, the “mood” is amazing and some of the best concert footage and video-clips have been shot there. Just to give you an Idea of the gigs there in the next weeks here''s a few names: Coldplay (currently the biggest band in the world), Eminem (all right, it''s not rock n roll but think of the biggest rap star on the planet) and of course there is also Ozzfest. Which from an organizational point of view is second to none. Mrs. Osbourne far from the cameras is quite a shrewd and “super expectant” organizer. Well, if Ozzfest is being held at the Tweeter Center then it''s got to have 10 out of 10 points for credibility. To cite a few acts that our “heroes” are supporting (heroes is the only description that springs to mind) here''s a bit of name dropping: 311, Steve Miller Band (all my life I''ve been wanting to see him), Toby Keith (hey, I know it''s country but 20,000 plus people? Think of the merch and CD sales), Avril Lavigne (don''t laugh, she rocks….and she''s cute) etc.
The whole program is available on line. All you have to do is keep reading our Web Magazine (with a facelift coming soon) to get more info as the gigs are done in August and September. And so we start with Toby Keith on August 27 with Philly''s Emergenza band HEAD.
HEAD, who also are on the Best of Emergenza compilation album 2005, are an amazing female fronted 5-piece band with more energy than an electrical power station. Their latest self financed album is engineered and co-produced by Phil Nicolo whose credentials include The Police and John Lennon to name a few. (Seriously people, I''m not pulling your leg). Phil Nicolo was so impressed by them, that he decided to produce the album. And so another amazing opportunity for Emergenza bands to shine. Walter Combi, Emergenza International Festival''s head of Artistic Relation told me: “We at Emergenza, pride ourselves in finding some of the best unsigned bands in the world and we will use our energy and effort to promote those deserving bands” he also added: “ The Tweeter Center in Boston along with many other projects such as the Guinness Oyster Festival in Chicago and the Vans Warped Tour are perfect examples of our continuing efforts and the involvement in the live music scene at top level” Fine words fro
