Interview with Seven Stories

Canadian winners

1. how did you get to play together? We met on a local musician’s website in Montreal and just clicked right away...no pun intended. 2. how and why you decided to take part in Emergenza? Some friends of ours made it to the Montreal finals last year and after going to check them out, we thought it could be a great opportunity for us. We were a young band and we liked the fact that Emergenza gave us the opportunity to play in some of the city’s top venues and expose our music to a much wider audience. 3.  what the Emergenza experience means for you, and for your local up and coming music scene? It has given us invaluable stage experience and has made our show much tighter and more professional. It provided a goal to work towards and gave us lots of exposure on the local scene and allowed us the opportunity to play at some of the best clubs. It has also allowed us to meet lots of great local bands and get a feel for what the scene is like here. 4. Did you expect to win the national final? No, but we’re not complaining! 5. How do you feel about the Grand Final? We’re excited and overwhelmed at the opportunity. We never expected to be where we are and we’re grateful for what could be the chance of a lifetime. 6. how would you describe your music? We get asked that question a lot and the best answer we’ve come up with so far is familiar but different at the same time. It’s rock music but there’s a different twist to it that we can’t put our finger on. You just have to listen and judge for yourself! 7. what about your relationship with your fans? Do you think their number has grown up since you have played in Emergenza? Our fan base has definitely increased since taking part in Emergenza. We’ve had a little exposure on local TV and people we never would have expected to enjoy our music have come up to us and told us that they dig it. What we especially like is that our fan base seems to be wide-ranging with lots of different people appreciating our sound. 8. More projects for the future? We will definitely keep on writing and work on recording a full-length album as well as putting together more shows in the Montreal area and surrounding cities. 9. Any special comment/thank you about Emergenza? We definitely have to send a huge shout out to the entire Emergenza Montreal crew. Gilbert, your help has meant so much to us. You rock! To Fred, Laetitia all of our friends, family and fans, to the jury, to Rick our awesome stage hand and all the stage crew at all the venues throughout the contest, thanks so much. Thank you seems to be such a small word at a stage like this. All we can do to really show you our thanks is go out there and do you guys proud!
