MUSIC CITY BRINGS OUT THE BIG BOYS
Nashville, home of the Tennesse Titans and Country Music. In January we kicked off Nashville with a bang and hoped the second time around would produce the same results. Well I was right.
We had great weather to go along with some amazing new talent.
It all started Thursday night at Hair of the Dog with a line-up that would make anyone question what were we thinking. But as the night went on the crowd seemed to settle in and were in for amazing night of music. We had a mixture of christian rock, with punk, and a little pop to make it one of the most interesting nights I''ve been a part of. 3run lead and Hi Fi Railway started the night off with a bang getting the audience rolled up and ready for more. Jhanke brought a heavy sound to the night while Troy De La Rosa and gang
entertained the audience with their Pop influence and dance routines. A visual sight not to have been missed. Not a bad way to start off the week.
So with Thursday behind us what could Friday possibly bring to the table? How about rock bands like Not worth Trusting, a metal band with more energy than I''ve seen in a long time. Let's add a little blues& rock band called A stones Throw Away to the night and do we have a show worth talking about! As the night rolled on the audience began to grow and Vision Bag gave them a taste of what was to come. The night was rolling down and of course there was a band yet to play. When IDE came on stage all eyes were directed to them and they gave the audience a show to remember.
So what does Saturday have in store for Nashville? Well, of course more great bands, what did you expect?
This was another great night with unique styles and trust me, nothing was being held back. Unique soul shocked the audience with their R&B Soul sounds which gave a new name and sound to the night. But right back to rock we went and Air 5 stole the show with their punk influenced rock &roll. It''s great to see an audience showing support for their local boys, and were they on their feet. We ended the night with an acoustic set by Jon Bozeman: what an amazing experience and great song writing we experienced!
Well it was that time of the week, Sunday. You never know what to expect on Sundays but what I was about to experience that night you had to almost be there to understand. There are those nights where you find a band or two that seem to stick in your head and trust me, tonight was that night. We started off the night with the unique styles of Sky Taylor and a heavy metal band that could only be described as heavy metal the way it should be played. Further on in the night we slowed things down with the beautiful voice and acoustic style of Jill. But through all this I saved the 2 bands that really caught my eye and haven't got the music out of my head since. Autovaughn showed the audience why playing live can be fun and truly entertaining. Now before I end this I had to save the band that truly represents what Nashville is and could be in the future. ''The Loft'' captivated the entire audience with their blues, funk, soul and original rock sound. It was a pleasure to be there watching this band do their thing and giving us the night we all hoped for.
All in all I've always known Nashville had the talent and this is just the beginning of a very entertaining season.
