A new tool, a new opportunity to emphasize Emergenza’s commitment to up & coming bands is in the works. It’s called the E- Foundation, the new European alliance for band production. The E-Foundation is not just another recording house but a non profit organization which supports and gives up and coming bands access to the means necessary for their production. E-Foundation will control and therefore be able to guarantee all these resources to bands. Where are these funds coming from? From the festival. This is not only in regards to financial resources (which make up a big part of it) but also the relations with and access to international medias, venues, MI as well as 15 years worth of experience with organization, production and promotion. Emergenza’s local structure & reality will be at the base of the E-Foundation. There are more then 100 cities worldwide where each day local managers attentively listen to thousands of bands and regularly communicate and share what they heard with area as well as top management. In this way Emergenza ensures that each ‘local’ reality has a sure opportunity to become global. Here is how the E-Foundation will work. Each Emergenza office will participate in the fund with a contribution. The Central office will invest the largest amount. Each member of the fund can nominate two bands a year, but cannot vote for their own. In the first year the fund will produce and support one band, chosen by the members. The total funds allotted for each band will include: pre-production, recording, mixing, post-production, printing, promotion (posters, magazines, and also showcases) The CD has to be ready to be presented at the Rothenburg International Final. In the autumn, at the end of the annual project, each member of the fund will receive the equivalent of his contribution in CD’s. The official establishment of the foundation, with the participation of the members, will take place at the end of December. The deadline for the delivery of demos and press packs selected by each member will be the middle of February. Once again the ‘Lazy Bands Die Young’ claim will come forth. Emergenza will put yet another opportunity at the disposal of up & coming bands, however it is up to the musicians to be seen and heard.
