GALANOR is the name for a new and fresh metal band from Amersfoort, the Netherlands. Galanor was founded in November 2007 after Joop de Rooij left his previous band,Transentience. Together with his old friend Rik Bruineman ( Elemental Journey, ex. Silent Edge ) he decided to form a new band. Together they had worked with Joost Maglev ( ex. Slightly Spring ) and Sebas Honing ( Nimblefeet ) on the Ayreon cover project named Ayreonotes in September 2007. Joost and Sebas were added to the lineup and early 2008 Petra Struijs ( Elegyn ) completed the lineup.

GALANOR makes a fresh and catchy style of metal which not only appeals to metal lovers, but to all pop lovers in general. The secret lies in the various styles of music all the individual members like and listen to, and therefore the unique form of songwriting the band has adopted for itself.While busy in the rehearsal room working on their act, they also recorded their first promotional CD ‘Fragments’ in their own studio.
