Scum of the Earth was founded in Denmark the summer of 2001, when the lead singer, Jonas, was hung over from a thrashy party the night before. He got the insane idea of making a punk band! He himself had all time been a more metal type of guy, so the idea itself was dead at birth, so to say. But when he met with his friend Cristian, also a Metal guy, and presended the Punk band thing to him, he loved it! After a couple of beers Jonas came up with the name "Scum of the earth", because they both just sat there, drinking and smelled bad. The two of them quickly put some songs together, with Jonas on vocals singing into a busted up gethoblaster, because they had no mic, Christian on the Guitar, no bass and coputer drums. All recorded on Christians 4-track recorder. The erly music was very "The Clash" like, but soon evolved to a more trashier "Sex pistols"/"Ramones" sound. The band soon got Zwinet on Bass, and Chicken-boy on drums. And then the band was on a roll. Lately Christian left the band, and Zwinet took over on the guitar and Mxl came in as the new bassist. And thats the lineup for now!
Scum of the Earth has just finished recording a self titeled album, and will soon be out!
