The SongDogs are a band from Berlin whose members have devoted them to handmade music. The sound of the SongDogs is decisively characterized by variable rhythms of electric and acoustic guitars as well as their interplay of chords, slide-guitar and solos. The solid bass completes the sound of the band harmonically and individually. The sensitive and sometimes pressing beats of the drums include all areas of percussive backgrounds and support the multi-layered moods and feelings of the songs, as well as the alternating part-singing. Ukulele, mandolin and harp give the sound of the SongDogs all the elements of Blues, Folk and Alternative Country.
The English texts of the SongDogs follow the tradition of the singer and songwriters and deal with dreams that are unfulfilled and thought to be perished, dreams of togetherness, loneliness and the in-betweens as well as the view over the big city of Berlin, going away, coming back, stumbling and getting up again. They involve own experiences, observations of people and places and recent events. The songs speak of memories, old and new friendships, of leaving and arriving, being lost and being found again and of the restlessness on the main and side streets of life.
