SUOSITUIMMAT TARINAT
Comprised of Terry Penney (vocals), John Longley (guitar), Chris Capstick (turntables, samples and percussion), Josh Boudreau (bass) and Jeremy Trites (drums), 76A.M. have been continuously moving upwards since its’ first show during the East Coast Music Awards Festival in February of 2003.
Highlights of the band include: a pair of eye catching sets at the World Trade & Convention Centre; a high profile underground showcase; a sold out cd release party; being interviewed for CKBW FM 98.1 and FM 90.5 CBC Radio One; airplay on FM 97.5 CKDU, Radio Free ECMA FM 101.5; FM 104.3 CFRQ, a feature “Sure Thing” article in the maritime arts magazine The Coast, and a highly successful maritime tour of the best venues in Atlantic Canada.
After earning a reputation of fan dedication and giving away hundreds of promotional CDs in the band’s first year, 76A.M. entered Compact Audio studios to record their self-titled debut album. Featuring ten songs filled with hooks and melodies, while still maintaining the trademark harder edge the band is known for, the album sold out its’ initial print run within a month of release. Soon after, the first single “The Great Divide” was picked up by many local radio stations in the area.
76A.M. unites a powerful combination of styles that result in nearly unmatched focus and energy. The band’s music has been described as “stadium rock ” and “larger than life”. Add to this a live stage performance that is both energetic and technically impressive; and the results are crowds often leaving their favourite venues knowing the songs after only one show.
