A self-proclaimed “band stew,” P.I.K.E.’s recipe includes Ryan O’Connor on vocals and guitar, Jim Girgenti on bass, Rick Johnson on guitar and backup vocals, and Mike Mastropierro on drums and backup vocals. These guys know how to combine skill, experience, good looks, and a little craziness to create a sound that is compelling, entertaining, and just damn good!
Ryan, “The Talent,” has been playing guitar since age 11 and was in his first band at age 16. Now 26, he is currently a music theory student and guitar teacher who has recently been credited as being “an emerging songwriter” (Out & About Jan 9th 2003 Jodi Tompson). Jim 21, “The Wild One,” has been playing guitar since age 12 and started on bass at age 16. He made his musical debut in high school which lasted through college playing with various bands until joining P.I.K.E.. Rick 23, “The Face,” is a self-taught musician who has been playing guitar since age 16. The ladies love Rick! Mike 22, “The Knowledge,” started playing drums in fourth grade and was a percussion major at TCNJ. Mike’s extensive musical knowledge has helped to create P.I.K.E.’s driving rhythms.
Their musical influence are staple of mainstream rock, including Led Zeppelin, Pantera, Tool, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Jimi Hendrix, and Stone Temple Pilots. After hearing just one of their songs there is no doubt where these guys have come from.
The members of P.I.K.E. are ideal musicians. They love to play, they love to have fun, and when they get together it’s trouble! Between performing regularly, constantly promoting and having an impressive 1500 hits a month to their web-site P.I.K.E. is becoming a force to be reckoned with inside the local music scene.
