THE SILLIES formed April 1977 and played their first show second-billed to The MC5 on August 10, 1977. The Sillies toured North America, being banned by Cleveland police from ever returning to that city and were given dual citizenship by Canada after a series of shows in Toronto. Neither were deserved. "AMERICA'S MOST WANTON" (Nebula Records) was released worldwide July 4, 2002. MC5 members Wayne Kramer and Dennis Thompson guested on the disc as did Bob Dylan/Nashville session pianist Throbbin' Bob Wilson. More than half of the early Sillies band members are dead from alcohol and drug related illnesses. The rest aren't.
