Formed in 2003, Writhing is a metal band whose only precedent is that the music be "heavy." Blast beats, acoustic passages and dark, thought-provoking lyrics all help to drive this concept home. The result is a unique style of metal firmly rooted in thrash and death with an emphasis on classic song structure.

In addition to completing their first self-produced demo, Writhing has already shared the stage with such national metal acts as Dying Fetus and The End and have plans to continue playing shows both locally and outside of Detroit's boundaries.
