After winning over the 2003 acoustic final in Montreal which has sent the band to Paris for the international final and also having been part of the B.E.S.T. of Emergenza during the same year, Leap is back!

Now with a new bass player, a long time buddy and former Sway member (Emergenza final 2002), Dan Archambault, the band's highest expectations are still to simply have a good time and meet new people and bands.

In 2004, encouraged by its amazing previous year, Leap has independently released a 5-track EP. Still, not quite satisfied with the sound which has evolved a great deal since, the band found it necessary to book a studio session last winter and cut two brand new tracks which are intended to be used as a master signature for the eventual debut album. For this, the band has called upon the amazing talent and vision of renowned producer Neil O'Connor (Too Many Cook's Food Fight album, among others).

Leap has never tried to hide its undeniable inclination for the big radio Pop Rock kind of sound. The music is nevertheless genuine and is delivered with the same conviction that any underground-inclined band would have. Leap is not about trends but rather about making the most honest music possible, regardless of any hype. In fact, each members' influences are so various that it's almost impossible to really pinpoint and label Leap's style. And musical boundaries are out of the question.

That said, Britpop is of course Leap's closest common ground. But rather the origin of it than the bands that were made famous under this movement. Because let's be totally honest, these guys are not the new kids in town... All members are in their thirties so they were preteens back in the 80's, going crazy over the music which has lately been brought back to life and emulated by the new generation bands. Well, no matter what the era we're in, a good song's always a good song, isn't it? So let's see what the "old" lads have up their sleeves...
