Sacred Ground was formed late Fall of 2005 under the name Carpe Noctem, which was a working name chosen just before a show, from Palm Bay Florida. The band changed it to Sacred Ground (the practice spot happens to be built on an old Indian burial ground) on March 7. The members consist of Tia on lead vocals, David on guitar and back up vocals, Mike on the bass, and Shawn on the drums. David and Mike had been playing for a few years before under various bands (Skratched, Pitch Black, Remnants of Deception) before stopping the band scene in 2004. David went on to jam with other bands and eventually came upon a band that Shawn was in. After a few sessions with them, things didn't seem like they were going anywhere. David got back in touch with Mike shortly afterwards and asked about starting a band again. After the first jam session, the chemistry between the musicians was evident and the search for a singer began. The search ended when a good friend, Tia, showed interest in singing and from the first note Sacred Ground was complete.
