The members of Mellonhead are all childhood friends, having grown up together in North Kingston aka Rideau Heights. Mellonhead evolved out of guitar and bass lessons Kenny was giving Jed and John. They jammed together for a period of time before rounding out the foursome with the addition of James Gray in 2001.

Now a complete band,started playing cover songs from bands like Collective Soul, Godsmack, Metallica, and others. They brought influences from the likes of Soundgarden, Ozzy, Thornley, System of a Down, AC/DC, S.T.P, and many more to compose their own original material. This wide range of influences shines forth in their music. Each one of their songs is a stylistically schizophrenic – displaying common, yet very distict style and sound. Each song has its own individual style and energy and shares it with no other.
