The Dutch progressive rockband In-Tension exists since late 2002. In 1998 the band was started as Symphus, with as biggest influences progressive metal bands like Symphony X and Dream Theater. After some changes in line-up and style finally in 2002 the band finds the musical direction it wants to follow: an easily recognizable own sound with influences from both progressive rock and fusion.

The band members have acquired their reputation with bands like In Cryptic Form, Inner Strength, Trisomy, GuessStation and Images and Dreams. They recorded their debut full-length album "Fragments" as a graduation project of the Rock Academy in Tilburg and it was released independently in February 2004. So far it has received great reviews by international prog magazines and e-zines.

In-Tension's songs each evoke a unique atmosphere and vary from easy jazzy ballads to catchy rock and solid metal. Recognizable melody lines alternate catchy riffs and atmospheric vocal lines, which leads to a sound that can only be called In-Tension.
