SUOSITUIMMAT TARINAT
A little later he introduced this song to his sister Nele. Together they had already made some songs that were mainly placed in the Gothic genre. They decided to further work out the music, like by adding spoken vocals. That’s how the first song of Silver Cross was made, called “Silent Witness”.
When they came to like it they made 4 more different songs, with elements grown out of Industrial Metal, New Wave, Gothic, Jazz as well as some Worldmusic. The lyrics were all written as a concept. In November they burned these first 5 songs at home on a cd. By listening many many times to these creations new ideas were developed, so as the taste to continue. 3 of these 5 songs were placed on the internet to gather some first reactions from friends and sympathizers.
In December 2005 another member joined the band, this was drummer Sabin. Together with him, the band decided to give a new interpretation to the music by using these fresh drums. As a three men band they further worked out the songs, and also wrote some new ones, with the purpose of performing them live.
The first Silver Cross gig was in Ghent at the “Gentse Feesten”, on the 16th of July. Here they played the “In All Memories” concept (then it was still called Adrenaline) live for the first time. After that the last songs in this concept were written and finished, so they could bring the full story live on gigs starting in October.
In September drummer Sabin left the band. This made that Filip and Nele put again some new ideas in the songs to make them some better. At the next gig in Schaarbeek they performed with just the two of them, like the original setting of the band.
In January 2007 Griet van Dingenen came to play the moog and keyboards. She also enriched the music with some backing vocals. The three of them performed at the next gig in Antwerp Expo.
In February and March all the songs from the concept were recorded in studio. De cd with the final result was presented the 14th of April and was then also available for purchase for the first time.
After a nice cooperation Griet deicided in August to concentrate on her own musical projects, and left Silver Cross. Bass player Fred Vekemans and keyboards player Gert Schaillée joined the band a little later.
