After just a short time of existance, MindSplitter is rapidly becoming a driving force in the Tennessee music scene. Having been influenced by various bands from punk to metal, MindSplitter take these influences and use them to create their own sound and style. Like most bands, they don't like to be pigeon holed into specific categories. Instead they prefer to let the listener decide on their own who, if anyone, the band sounds like. However, for a point of reference, fans have said MindSplitter sounds like bands ranging from Metallica, Megadeth and Pantera to Slipknot and Hatebreed. MindSplitter have been active in the live local music scene playing such venues as The Hair Of The Dog, The 'Boro, Wall Street, The Exit / In, Parra's, The Cannery Ballroom, The Temptation Club, and Gentlemen Jim's. Whether it's a supporting or headlining slot, the same energy and explosiveness that is a MindSplitter show comes through. Nothing is ever held back. It's all left on the stage. MindSplitter recently participated in the Emergenza music festival, www.emergenza.com, and moved on to the final round of 13 bands out of the 96 the participated in the competition.
