A celebration of life through rock and roll, the band Doggybag formed its nucleus in the winter of 2002, when bassist/guitarist/songwriter Jan Prachar met singer/songwriter Marek Hosek. The two motivated artists jammed with various local musicians until they found the ones who adhered to the sounds they dreamed and desired: lead guitarist Karel Hudecek, keyboard player Laddy Pistek, and, eventually, drummer Michael Amandes. The band attributes much inspiration to most of its members having grown up in Communist Czechoslovakia, where their country prohibited them from expressing any creativity or individuality. As adults living in the United States, the five members of Doggybag now create and perform European-tinged American rock that connects to audiences with a pervasively positive energy.
