Travelling throughout South Australia, Victoria & New South Wales, ‘SHE SAID YOU’ found their musical direction by writing, recording and performing 14 new songs over a six month period. During this time, they unveiled their creations at venues such as ‘The Espy’ (Melb), ‘The Hopetoun’ (Syd), ‘The Lansdowne’ (Syd), ‘The Producers Bar’ (Adel) and ‘The Yahoo Bar’ (Shepparton).
July ’08 heard ‘Triple J’ unearth the group’s debut single “Dark Sunglasses” in Australia. Following this, community & university radio stations throughout Australia and abroad added the band’s first release to their playlists, including Nova 919 Adelaide, 3RRR Melbourne, SYN 90.7, 95bFM Auckland University and Moscow’s Radio Ultra 70.19FM.
In April 2009, after closely examining their large back-catalogue of demos, ‘SHE SAID YOU’ selected five tracks to be released as their debut EP ‘Kamo Way’. Acclaimed producer Phil McKellar (Silverchair, Grinspoon, Spiderbait) worked his magic on the tracks during mix-down, while the famous Don Bartley took care of mastering in Sydney.
“Kate”, the band’s second single release coincides with the completion of the long-awaited ‘Kamo Way’ EP. The 2 minute 57 second infectious pop rock song clearly establishes the musical identity that is ‘SHE SAID YOU’.
