Dexter Jones is a four-piece alt-pop-rock act from Adelaide Australia. With their catchy guitar driven riffs, vocal harmony hooks, and up-tempo beats, Dexter Jones have been likened to acts such as Franz Ferdinand and The Hives.

Dexter Jones is not “post modern”, it’s a post-POST modern band: The songs are derived from a wide range of modern musical styles, in each instance, the genre is chosen for its fancied appropriateness to the lyrics, or vice versa. The band has chosen not to follow any one system or philosophy in their song writing. Instead, selecting what they consider to be the best aspects of popular music of the late 20th Century, Dexter Jones serve up an eclectic mish-mash of pop sounds that are still somehow cohesive and new to the 21st century ear.

Front man Matt Soang stirs up a laconic yet melodic mission while the rest of the band thrum and riff around him, culminating in the striking harmonies of their sing-along choruses.
