The band 'No Sharp Objects' was formed in 2005 as an acoustic duo of Mike and Nigel producing chilled out tunes on acoustic guitar, acoustic bass and vocals, playing local venues in Brighton & Hove. All this changed however at the start of 2008 when the acoustic duo changed to an electric three piece with the addition of long term friend and drummer Dawn. The band set about re-writing some of the acoustic tracks to fit a harder, louder and altogether new sound, whilst writing new material to fit the new approach. Described by The Latest magazine as Alt Country Noir Rock, the track Home has featured in the Brighton Music Chart for over 12 months with over 10,000 hits. The band also released The Wrong Kind of Love which has received similar success. The bands first EP entitled 'Contour' was released in early 2009 featuring four tracks, Home, Good Guys, The Wrong Kind of Love and The Colour of Pain along with a video for Home. The track Home has also been used on the DVD Diving with Sharks. The film, produced by Danny & Cathie Aslan highlights the diminishing number of sharks in the world today due to indescriminate fishing and has some amazing footage. The DVD is available from the Shark Conservation website. The band finished the year in the finals of the Yamaha 'Band for a Grand' Competition playing The Stables in Milton Keynes in front of a packed crowd and celebrity panel of judges. The track 'The Colour of Pain (recorded on the night) appeared on the December Yamaha podcast. 2010 Will see the band playing various festivals, and keep a look out for a new EP.
