    Die Band wurde 1994 v. G. Peciak (Gitarre, Voice) gegründet. G. u. S. Peciak (Schlagzeug, Voice) sowie M. Mocek (Keyboard, Voice) bilden seitdem den Kern der Band. 1999 trat N. Neumann der band als Gitarristin mit bei. Cartago entwickelte in den 10 Jahren des Zusammenspielens ihre eigene Stilrichtung, die zwischen Pop und Rock liegt. Sie überzeugt nicht zuletzt durch ihre kreativen tanzbaren Songs (in englisch und deutscher Sprache), die aus eigener Feder stammen.
