À LA UNE
Rolling earthy rhythms cast forth from Orion Miller’s didgeridoos merge with the dirty dubby bass lines of Marina Miller’s synths, and are held together by Varoujan Mardirossian's drum beats from deep inside the pocket. With hip hop verses to empower the people, bold harmonies, and creative use of dual loop pedals, The OM Sound sounds more like a glitch-hop orchestra than a three piece band. Their electro-influenced beat box grooves, shredding keyboards, crunchy guitar, fretless and funky basses inspire dance moves as soon as the bass drops.
The OM Sound recently released their second album, The Tipping Point, recorded in Melbourne, Australia. All of the tracks were written during their recent two year overseas odyssey. Working with Steve Winton of Chasing Records, they developed a clear vision of conscious hip hop and soul and brought their vision to life.
Having shared the stage with musical powerhouses such as Oka, Adham Shaikh, Ganga Giri, Five Alarm Funk, and Valdy, and played iconic venues like The Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto and The Railway Club in Vancouver, The OM Sound is quickly making a name for themselves in Canada and overseas as an unstoppable force of musical synergy.
Peace through music.
