The Sound...
The sound of Battersea is a fusion of rock styles that span over three decades of music. Within their songs, it is not uncommon to hear several classic rock elements woven together to become a new sum, greater than its parts. These musical influences are further embraced with a modern inflection that creates a new, unique, sonic blend. The listener is thus provided with shear aural stimulation.
About the Band…
Battersea was formed in 1992, in Toronto, Canada. Their musical journey together has led them to solidify and synchronize a clear vision and identity. Originality has always been of great concern to the band, and is manifested in the many demos they have produced.
Their three song CD, released in the summer of 2001, was recorded at Metalworks (one of Canada's finest studios) and mixed, mastered and engineered by Nick Blagona (who has worked with The Foo Fighters, Tea Party, Deep Purple…) and Ed Krautner (David Bowie, Cranberries…). From this CD, the song "Mile in My Shoes" reached number 4 on Toronto's 105.5 weekly chart. Several new recordings have been made since then and are exclusively available in MP3 format on their web site.
A successful appearance on the talk show "Daytime", prompted the host to bill them as "The Next Big Thing". Indeed, several music industry representatives have been turned on to the Battersea sound, anticipating their next "official" CD release.
Along with writing and recording, Battersea are currently in the middle of touring New York State and Southern Ontario to support their CD releases. Look for Battersea to excel in 2003 with their relentless ability to ROCK!
