Born in Varese in 1981, solo artist Sollazzon started playing music at the tender age of seven and at age 15 bought his first acoustic guitar and learned to play by ear. He has a brashly eclectic lineup of artists that have influenced him, among which are Slash, Bach, Chopin, Verdi, Vivaldi Rossini, progressive rock and the dance music of Tunz Tunz. You might not think it’s possible to reference all of those influences on a single, three-song album. But Sollazzon has done it. “Pinini’s Love” is the perfect example of how the artist manages to model his guitar tone to match that of his dominant influence, Slash, and then echo that with classical piano, recalling his flair for the operatic. The title of the over 16 minute long “Paranoia” sums up the mood of the third track very well: a never ending-ambient-paranoid dream. The EP entitled Pre2K14 was recorded and mixed over the past two years in his home studio, which he calls RocK A Phorte. Early in March Sollazzon took his highly original songs to the stage and laid it all out on the line in Emergenza Festival Italia. Curious to hear him for yourself?
