TOP STORIES
Almost every band these days claim to have 'wide and varied influences'. Rarely, however, is there a band like The Numinus who truly embody and embrace this diversity to create a music that is alive with energy, passion, creativity and musicality.

The Numinus originated as the creative project of Steve Eldridge who -as well as being a trained violinist- played guitar in the Sydney metal band Headmess. Wanting to play music of a more rock orientated nature, he wrote some songs and collaborated with drummer Anders Woodfield who also played in Headmess. Steve then invited singer Kara Lentfer (who has completed a degree in Contemporary Music) and bass guitarist Steve Clark (who is completing his PhD in music composition) to have a jam with a few of the songs, and it became clear after just this first rehearsal that the group was involved in something very special.

The extensive creative resources that the band taps include their individual experiences with rock, metal, electronica, classical, alternative, jazz and folk music - both as professional musicians and music teachers. Utilising these rich and diverse resources and fusing them into a single musical experience is an exciting challenge that The Numinus has taken on and they are looking forward to what the future of their music may hold.
