After numerous gigs in Austria and abroad, the band decided to go through a slight member change in order to follow a more contemporary direction. A new sound was developed; a sound softer yet trashier than the old one. And so the actual line up has been together since 2003: Mike on vocals, Christopher on Bass and Andy on guitars. A fresher sound, more authentic and dirtier than before is now established. After many months of creative phases and hard work, Hindoslem has produced a terrific record: “the year of tainted visions”. Mostly described as a New-Metal like band, their music is nevertheless a mix of Metal riffs, clean, atmospheric and chaotic moments, brutal shouts and emotional melodies. In summer 2004 the 4-man combo recorded their 1st E.P, featuring 6 songs and called “memories in our mirrors” at the Kulturfabrik. Their main target in 2005 is to write new songs and to perform live as much as possible, in order to promote their E.P and to prove their value. A first great step in this direction was done when winning the 4th Emergenza edition in Luxemburg. When the band started to rehearse in Rågsved, a suburb outside Stockholm. On the spring of 2005 it all started to go well for Ska''n''ska, they recorded a demo-cd and gigs started to take place for real. They play very fast, latino-inspired ska with reggae sticks. With primary influences of British Pop-rock and American alternative rock, Sixteenth Solid Spread goes from the melodic darkness of The Cure or Jesus and Mary Chain to the dense consistency of the Stone Temple Pilots and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, without forgetting the experimental space of groups such as Radiohead and Massive Attack. Their demo has been recognized as one of the 15 best demos of 2004 according to MONDOSONORO magazi¬ne.
