It’s been the most fantastic festival because After 3 days of the best weather we have finally come to an end for another season…..gorgeous sunshine, booze, funk and rock N roll and now the International jury have given the final result....the winner is (drum roll please) THE SCHEEN!!!  all the way from Oslo, in Norway. They walked away with the top price and were crowned world champions….or Weltmeister as they say here in Germany (after winning the world cup we learned how to say that)  But before we tell you let’s go through it from the start. 

Band number 6 e number 5 were OAK & WILLOW and ACHILLE’S FAMILY. Band number 4 and 3 were MERCURY WHITE & SHATA QS respectively. A great effort from both these bands that gave their hearts and souls with their performances. The second best drummer was the "basher" from THE KITCHIES and he gets a set of Sabian Cymbals from our very good sponsors SABIAN.. The second best bass player was the guy from OAK & WILLOW and he gets a FENDER bass. The second best guitar player also gets a beautifully made GIBSON guitar and it goes to the guy from MR SERIOUS & THE GROOVE MONKEYS. The best singer was the girl from SHATA QS and the results were unanimous on this decision. She gets a SENNHEISER wireless microphone set. Best bass player went to the "monster" playing in THE SHOUTING MEN and he gets a gorgeous MARSHALL  amplifier from our great British sponsors. Best Drummer gets a  drum kit from NATAL, a Marshall product and it went to the “groove master” from ACHILLE’S FAMILY. The best guitar shredder was the guy from BLUE MACHINES and he gets the Marshall valve amp. .......and now the last 2 bands: Second place went to THE KITCHIES from France and the first went to.....take a deep breath please.........it was obviously THE SCHEEN from Norway.

After NICO & VINZ, the Norwegian world topping chart masters that started with Emergenza, another Norwegian act. They  walked away with the top price and were crowned world champions. Their performance was simply magic. 

Ok, we wanted to let you know that ALL the bands were absolutely magic!!!!! THE SCHEEN, still shocked from the announcement, rushed to the main stage, which is almost as big as the town of Rothenburg itself,  where they kicked the Taubertal Festival punters in the face with their cultured, groove infected driven rock …as always........I say this every year: If Andy Warhol said everybody has 15 minutes of fame he was wrong in this case, it has been a mad week –end for this incredibly entertaining and powerful band…

They made people go nuts…just crazy under the sunny sky. When the giant screen flashed a 50 foot tall tattooed lead singer and everybody was looking, we knew that this was the right band. Mission accomplished.

The jury, which included UK promoters, SONY music Publishers and Music Industry record distributors did a superb job and we thank them for giving us their time and they obviously thanked us for giving them the booze and the bands.
 
And so another year has gone and many, many gallons of beer have been drank back stage…can we please do it again next year???? Compliments to ALL the wonderful musicians that played……now let's go and party some more…ROCK ON!!!!!
