Rome, as you may know, is full of history. Historic buildings scatter the streets of the Eternal City, while artists mosey along, getting inspired by its beauty. A few genius musicians decided that the time is now to put a bit of their own historic roots into Rome, therefore Emergenza was born. Performing in Emergenza gives you the chance to become a part of history, since this is the city where it all started.
It only took one festival and five months to have a crowd of 3000 cheering for their own friends and peers on stage. It was a new and exciting way to experience music, a competition for the people, not just to watch. Then when people thought it could not get any better, Emergenza started producing compilation albums of bands that had signed into the competition. In ten years they had created 54 compilation albums both live and in the studio, which people loved. There logo was born and can/should be used for promoting your band!
1996, five years later, was when other countries started to recognize how awesome Emergenza was and The Gibus Club in Paris decided to host the first ever concert for Emergenza that was outside of Italy. From then, there was no stopping this festival. 113 bands enrolled and 2,500 people attended the first Emergenza European final in London, Astoria.
Now, just to prove how large we have become, there are 9,000 bands taking part in our festival around the world. Back in 2005 there was already 70 bands in North America! Emergenza is also in Japan, Canada (Quebec was the first North American stop), Russia, and many more. We have had bands as well as artists such as Prodigy, Bush, The Hives, and Mika perform on stages along with our finalists. If you want to become part of history, join Emergenza in the every growing, yet still tight knit group of artists and musicians, taking the music scene by storm.
