TOP STORIES
GOS started as a concept to bring the idea of passion back into music without compromising the musical vision of the band. The vision was simple . . . to write good songs. Deep, meaningful, thoughtful lyrics and melodies over lush musical landscapes. The members of Garden of Souls have diverse musical backgrounds and tastes and they all find their way into the music, which is the main reason why every GOS song is unique in it's own right. The idea of having 'hooks' within the songs while still maintaining an artrock mentality on a musical level has been done before . . . and when it has been done the right way, it provides an overwhelming sense of timelessness. This is the goal of the band; to make thoughtful, passionate music that is as fresh and poignant now as it would have been 10 years ago or 10 years from now.
Garden of Souls' release, Wake Up, is currently available and being pre-sold in I-Tunes form at the gigs. The CD will be available by December of '05 and another full-length disc called Awake is in the works for a Spring 2006 release. Working with known producers Tim and Andy Patalan (Sponge, “Bachelor” Bob Guiney, Hoarse, Peter Searcy, Birdbrain, Beth Orton, Jeff Buckley) and with special guest artists like percussionist Larry Frantangelo (Parliament, Funkadelic, Red Hot Chili Peppers) and AwRY/My Brightest Diamond vocalist Shara Worden, GOS feels like it's off to the right start.
