The time is now. Here we go! The outstanding Emergenza European Final is over and ones again we have been proud to be in Rothenburg, beautiful village, centre of Taubertall Festival one of the major European Rock appointment. And from now on we have to begin calling differently the European Rock Contest. From the past edition as a matter of fact we have landed in Canada, in the North American Continent. The major European Festival for newcomers bands its improving itself ones more, becoming bigger and facing new challenges. A challenge exactly like the one the bands performing at the final the past week-end had to face and respond. If only one word is able to synthesize Emergenza that word is challenge. For the musicians challenge means playing live, performing a show, planning the time of the concert and facing a big crowd. For the organisation challenge means carrying all of this, the capacity of planning concerts every week in ten and ten European cities and guarantee to every band the best possible logistic and the highest backstage professional crew for pleasing every needs required by the players. Emergenza is all of this in every step from the beginning to the final. So the bands reaching the final just for the strength of responding to the challenge and facing the test have won their festival whatever the score obtained by the jury and the public. Below we have expressed briefly an opinion on the 23 bands whom played. If you weren’t there you have missed something great. Bye to next year: Band: Dedalo Good qualities: The female voice,the lead guitar Suggestions: It wouldn’t be bad to include some english songes in the repertoire so to make the sound a bit more powerful and …. Influences: Considering the tuscan origin e the decision to sing in italian:Litfiba but also the female rock: Nannini and the best repertoire of Irene Grandi. Pearl jam? Best song in the set: Urlo Opinion: Their style is classic rock. Set up with drums, 2 guitars,bass plus a good female vocalist. In spite of the name they don’t burn their wings off and fly high.They are brave because they sing in italian, they open the festival and they catch the first shy applauses. It’s not a small task. Bravo! Total score: ** 2 stars Name of the band: Savage season. Good qualities: Thight band reasonably glued together How to improve: Improve the singular technical skills Sounds like: Crossover with H-Blocks light influences and a bit of Bush too. Best song in the set: Wonderland Opinion: They come from Hannover and playing in front of their own crowd should be an advantage but they fell a bit too nervous.They get thight and hot only at the end of the set when the people start dancing but it’s too late the show is over. Total score: 1 star * Band: Orange Marmalade Good qualities: The drums drive and the voice. Great personality Suggestions: The set is well runned, perfect at the beginning and at the end might be improved in the middle. Influences: Original with echoes of Lamb,Portishead and sometimes the Edge Best song in the set: Trip Opinion: In a 6 pieces band they show a perfect blend and sound mix. They feel the public vibe and they convince everyone with their sound never banal. We will hear them again. Total score: **** 4 stars Band: Yensid Law Good qualities: The vocalist and the over all band sound Suggestions: Work on ensemble time with rhytm section Influences: Echos of Coal Chamber, System of a Down, and Korn Best song in the set: Dead and gone Opinion: Everything under control even under pressure because of few little mistakes during a song. This dark voice in a new metal band could be out of place but it works perfectly although the band could be more present.
