1)
You have participated in the Emergenza Festival Edition 2018/2019. What
made you decide to take part in it?
We
decided to participate in order to play concerts on emblematic stages and
places. We wanted to gain experience throughout a competition of high level
with a large exposure.
2) As you approach the world final, what is
your state of mind?
We are thrilled, excited, stressed, happy,
nervous and more ! But in 2 words : EXTREMELY HAPPY !
3) What is your best memory from your
Emergenza experience?
A
part from the very special evening at the New Morning during which we got
selected for the final at the incredible Bataclan !! What REALLY REALLY made us
incredibly happy and proud was the comments we received from the judges after
our show at the final at the Bataclan. That was awesome!
4) What's behind your band's name? Any
specific meaning?
MoneyKeep
is the name of our first ever song created by the group. This song is about what really is important
in life when things go wrong, sad or crazy... The message is: You can keep my
money, keep my money, what really mean something to the heart will stay, you
can take my money, but what belongs to my heart you wont be able to touch it,
this I will keep, you can keep my money, money is nothing to me.
5) Can you tell us a funny story or anecdote
about your experience on stage? And one which happened in backstage or during
the preparation of a show ?
This
story really didn't make us laugh when it actually happened, but now it does !!
Lucas our lead guitarist managed to babdly break his finger doing the dishes
... this was only a few days before the semi-final at the New Morning !! We
were so stressed out and almost convinced it was going to be the end of the
competition for us... But nope !! He did it, (whisky helped), we did it !! and
now when we look back on that day we do laugh about his finger !!
6) How would you describe your music?
Our
music talk about sad, sensitive, serious and sometime dramatic subjects . We
mix it with some energy with rythme, melody and fun. It is contradictory, but
this is what makes our music special.. It is all about how you face things in
life : Sometime it is a smile sometime the humility, sometime both....This how
MoneyKeep does it.
7) What are your short to medium term plans
after the Emergenza's world final?
Short
term we would like to record our first album, we need it to promote ourselves.
At the moment we only have amateur recordings and videos. So that’s really
important. Long term, we aim and dream to keep growing as professionals and
hopefully soon be able to live of our passion !! Cross fingers!!
