Dark Fields of Necromancy (DFON) was formed in late 1997 as "Necromancy", in the town Winsen (Lower Saxony, Germany) by the musicians René Rohr (guitars) and Reiner Ropeter (vocals and guitars). After some line-up changes over the years the band found their synergy in creating melodic Gothic Metal Songs with the current line-up.
