They might have their both feet on the ground, they promise us a loud and energetic show at the Botanic. Nothing less. Good news: that is what we ask for :)


1. How and when was the band born ?
Into Nebraska was founded on the 5th of November 2011. It started with the ending of another band. The guitarist (Loïc) and drummer (Stijn) wanted to start a new project. So through some contact they found a lead singer (Jeroen), a lead guitarist (Sascha) and a bass player (Gaëtan).

2. Three words to describe your music ?
Loud. Energetic. And more Loud, because mentioning it once won’t cover it.

3. What are your influences?
We have a wide range of styles we listen to, going from Foo Fighters to AC/DC, Rise Against to KISS. Everything that has a bit of rock to it actually. But even Level 42 and Victor Wooten are influences (to the bass player at least).

4. What is your creation process ?
Most of the time, it starts with a simple guitar riff or line. If it sounds good, we keep it and together we construct a frame of drums around it, more guitar and bass. And if it eventually sounds good, we go with it and Jeroen writes lyrics to it. If it doesn’t sound OK in even the slightest way, we keep changing stuff, trying different things until we have this track which we like. The lyrics are all written by Jeroen. Then, we take everything to band practice and we run through the new song a couple of times, we record it. Then we listen to it, we let some of our friends listen to and if there’s anything that doesn’t fit, we change it. At the end, we end up with a song we’re proud of.

5. What is your state of mind before the final?
We’re all stoked that we have been given the opportunity to play at the Botanique. This is without doubt one of the biggest and most important shows of our career yet. It’s somehow crazy that we, being in such a young band, already get to play there.
In terms of chances of winning, we try to keep our both feet on the ground. Rocking the Botanique is already a win for us! And besides, the other bands are great, each in their own genre. So we’ll just make the best out of it, and who knows? But whatever happens, we’re glad to have this chance, because who knows, this could be an important moment towards the future.

6. Did you know l’Orangerie du Botanique ? How does it sound to you?
Of course we knew the Botanique! To us, the Botanique sounds like some kind of slingshot to catapult the bands into the right direction to really achieve something.

7. What are your long-term projects ?
In the summer, we’ll be playing some gigs everywhere across the country. But I think that we all will be looking forward to the end of August. We’re joining the Canadian Punkrock-band We Outspoken on their tour for some days. And in the meantime, we’ll just be doing what we always do: writing some more new stuff, seizing every opportunity to perform. Maybe we’ll head to the sea again, to our home-studio and record some demo-samples like we did last year.

8. What can we be expecting from you (on stage) ?
A good rock ‘n roll show. We don’t use computers or any of that fancy shit. Into Nebraska is just five guys with guitars and drums. We’re energetic, we want the audience to have a good time and we enjoy ourselves on stage.

9. For what reasons could you be the winner?
Every guy in our band has a common dream: to become a fulltime musician, to become a band that tours around the world. We are all willing to do what it takes to achieve this, to push ourselves and keep getting better and better. We also try to make sure that the audience in special has a perfect evening. We think that these are all qualities which puts a band in a good position to win this. But as we said before, all the other bands are great in their own style and deserve to win.
