This Long Island, NY instrumental quartet brings the best of the heavy groove and musicianship of the 70's and fuses it with a contemporary feel to create a sound unlike anything heard on the scene today. Hints of Gov't Mule & Cream can be heard, as well as STP and early Led Zeppelin. Billy (Pills) Fridrich is known on the LI scene, formerly as the lead guitarist and songwriter for Celestial. Old MacDonald can also be found playing drums in Negative Reaction, a cutting-edge sludge metal band. Joe Zummo has played the LI circuit in punk rock and classic rock bands. HeavySURF have added a lead vocalist to their unique music, Mark Zaharis of Long Beach, N.Y. They are currently gearing up for Northeast shows this autumn and are recording their first CD in December at Mike Sapone's Studio. Visit www.heavySURF.net
