    À LA UNE
Growing up, everything came second to music for North Babylon's Rich Albergo. Coupling that desire with hard work, and mixing in tons of determination, nothing could hamper his longing for a career in music. It also helps when some of your best friends share that desire with you, too.

So technically, the Montauk Project started out as a phone call from, Rich, a very driven guitar player/vocalist, on the dialing end, and longtime friend Antonio Gabriele, as the recipient, also an eccentric musician. What started out as the jamming a bunch of acoustic originals, became playing at open mics, and evolved into recognition from the outside and booking full band shows. With the help of another friend, the demo landed in the right hands, and those hands ushered into the world of record label support. And from that moment on, it was clear that the task at hand was to find a supporting cast to compliment the duo's incredible song writing style.

Enter: Andrew Vega. I guess when you're a musician, you have musician friends, and Andrew is no exception. Andrew is also a phenominal guitar player ... who was intrigued at the possibilities of playing bass. He took it in stride, and has not looked back since, evolving into a major component of the Montauk Project, while adding to the new trio's already great chemistry.

It was then the band turned to another long time friend, Joe Pizzurro, who was willing to lend his drumming expertise.

The Montauk Project looks to continue to further themselves by playing anywhere, anytime, in front of anyone, so the music can be shared.

Montauk Project would also like to say thank you to Alby Rojas, Joe Pizzurro, Pietrina Pizzurro, and Lisa Suter for lending their musical assistance when needed on drums and violins, respectively.
