Dark, Bleak, Hard and Heavy: The Still Shadows

Setting the tone for Sydney grunge rockers The Still Shadows on stage this Wednesday night at The Lair

Sydney band The Still Shadows are getting geared up to take on the legendary stage at The Lair with their dark, heavy grunge rock for round one of Emergenza Festival Australia. To get a taste of what’s about to go down, check out their original song “Burned Alive”. This epic—nearly five minute long—song, sums up their bleak worldview and sets the tone for what these guys are about musically. Definitely a good dose of Pearl Jam in there as well as Nirvana—no doubt it’s full on grunge in the vocals and the rhythm guitar, but there’s a little hair metal that seeps through every once in a while—a testament to the guitarist’s love of Slash. The competition is going to be tough Wednesday, October 1st as The Still Shadows are up against seven other killer local bands that night, but we think they’ve got the talent and the grit to get through… without being burnt… alive. Don’t miss out! Click here for more show info.
