Out of the Woods and Into The Lair: Wolves In Fashion

This band takes their powerful folk rock sound to the stage at The Lair this Friday

Listening to the latest single from Sydney band Wolves In Fashion, it’s no surprise that the Wolves are enamoured with bands like Jeff Buckley and The Rubens. The crooner quality in the vocals and the nostalgic tone in the lyrics of “Dream” definitely evoke those artists. But, if you want to get a taste of their true pop potential, check out the more pastoral and folksy, but nonetheless powerful, “Here I Stand (Blood and Tears)”. Lyrics conjure up the image of a self-righteous military march to carve out a unique road ahead and break away from the beaten path. The powerful, earworm hook and explosive electric guitars in the chorus sections are contrasted by the acoustic folk musical backdrop in the verses. With lyrics like “Here I stand in blood and tears, and I won’t move until I have faced my fears”, you can’t hope for anything less than totally compelling with these guys. Powerful stuff. Don’t miss your chance to see them live this Friday, July 18th when they go on stage at The Lair for round one of Emergenza Festival Australia. More info on the show here.
