Rejuvenate: Crazy Melodies and Evil Breakdowns

This Melbourne based hardcore band offers up a unique, female fronted take on the genre, providing for crazy good melodies and evil sounding breakdowns

The music of hardcore band Rejuvenate totally speaks for itself. They definitely draw influence from heavy bands like Make Them Suffer, Misery Signals and Architects, but they’re less concerned with the fashions of those bands—jokingly referred to as crabcore—and more focused on honing the sound that each individual component of the band contributes to the mix. Each song really speaks to their audience, being based on real-life problems and how to overcome them. Take “Dr. Chunder” for example, which you can stream on the band’s Facebook band page. Killer, dynamic drumming pulls you into the song from the first kick. Screeching metal guitar riffs and smooth female vocals pumped up with an auto-tune technique, which adds a totally cool, ethereal flow to the melody. And all this is just a build up to the seriously spine curdling screaming vocals and the evil breakdowns, where hearts are literally poured out on stage. These guys have been around the Melbourne scene already and like to call The Espy their second home, but don’t think that means they’re ungrateful for the chance to play round one of Emergenza Festival Australia this Saturday, May 10th at that venue. Rejuvenate are super psyched to play for their fans, old and new. They love connecting with fans, so look out for them after the show. Find more details on their upcoming gig at The Espy here.
