When it comes to the music of The Strangers in Town it’s all about raw, live rock and roll energy. They focus every bit of their resources into putting on raging, sweaty, punk grunge live shows. But they recently uploaded some of their demos on their Soundcloud page, which will give their fans a taste of what’s to come when The Strangers hit the studio very soon to record their upcoming EP. “Going to Hell” is one of their standouts. It definitely captures an old school street punk vibe with a little bit of the abrasiveness and irony of the Sex Pistols and the oh oh chorus’ of bands like the Misfits. Their self-titled song “Stranger in Town” shows the band is right up there with Green Day in their ability to write grungy, distorted, but nonetheless super catchy tunes. Even if you’re not into punk, these guys will rock your socks off. They play and sing every one of their songs as if it were the last. The Strangers in Town are getting their rehearsal on stage at smaller venues leading up to their big night at The Espy this Saturday, May 10th when they’ll have their chance to play round one of Emergenza Festival Australia.
