When imagining the band Le Fay, think artists Jewel, Sarah McLauchlin and Tori Amos—all together in the same band. Made up of three female lead vocalists, this band has more vocals than instrumentals, which gives them a unique harmony-heavy sound. They sum themselves up by saying “catchy, harmonies, melody”, but that doesn’t really capture the eccentric wonder of this band, which takes influence from everyone from The Beatles to Linda Ronstadt to Joni Mitchell and sprinkles those influences with their own unique magic. Check out their latest video for the song “The Boy and His Beast” to get an idea of what they’re all about. Set in a forest, complete with nymph-like creatures, masked men, a forest queen, and the main character in her pink tulle skirt, this video will give you a glimpse into the band's magic world. That’s certainly a stand out song, but it’s not their only one. Make sure to come out to The Espy this Friday, May 9th to hear a full set of their captivating original songs. They’re more than used to rocking a stage, playing their debut gig at a music festival in front of 400 people and limelighting at a fundraiser gig in a chic venue in Melbourne. This time the band is set to compete in the first round of the Emergenza Festival Australia. More details on the show here.
